Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 27 - Cottonwood and FR131 Verde River

The place for pizza in Cottonwood - hands down! The tiny village of Cottonwood is full of gastronomic surprises - we may need a return visit.

Oooh.

The post pizza relax - as the Verde River runs past.

Don't even ask.

Context makes all the difference in the world.

The only lonely ranch we saw on FR131. It received an "A" rating when the X Files filmed here.

The Valley Verde tourist train winds it's way home.

This is our way home.

The long and desperate track to Nowhere.

Many take out their desperation on the honest, but hapless road signs just doing their job.

We return from Nowhere in time for sunset in the Red Rocks of Vortexville.

Truck is acquiring a lovely decorative pattern of red dust.

We obviously didn't give Emma nearly enough exercise today, as she insisted on a late evening game of Bowling for Shelties. The art hall corridor works very well indeed.
